Our Long-Range Midnight Black Sandal was made in collaboration with Bad Larrys Official, an endurance group started by U.S. Navy Rescue Swimmers who highly value foot and ankle strength to not only power their long endurance races, but also to perform their jobs.

Our long-range barefoot sandals are made with 100% American Bison leather, tanned in the Great Lakes region of the United States. Prized for being 40% stronger than cow leather, this unique material not only offers strength and longevity but also ages beautifully, molding to your feet over time. Designed with a classic style, these sandals feature a lightweight yet durable construction that flexes with your foot, promoting natural foot movement.

Engineered for long range travel, these sandals include an added heel strap to lock in your foot and promote a healthy stride gait. With a strong yet supple footbed, they provide excellent ground feel, offering comfort and support on long hikes or casual outings. Handmade in the USA, these bison leather sandals are a tribute to enduring craftsmanship and a connection to the spirit of America.

For thousands of years, Native Americans to the first frontiersman relied on bison hides to craft moccasins, valuing the leather for its exceptional durability, ruggedness, and natural suppleness. These qualities made it ideal for traversing the vast and varied landscapes of North America. The bison’s legacy, deeply woven into the cultural and economic history of the continent, represents unity and resilience. This time-tested material and storied past of the American bison inspired our craftsmanship, blending tradition with function.

From the leather we use being 40% stronger than cow leather to the moccasin construction, our sandals are built to last. Although your sandals will feel great out of the box, we recommend a 2 week break in period to allow the sandal to mold to your feet. Don't be afraid to sweat in your sandals as this will help them mold to your feet. The straps will become more supple without losing their strength and the footbed will take on the shape of your footprint.

Due to the varied natural grain patterns in American bison hides, each pair of sandals will have a slightly different look and not have the exact same grain patterns as shown in the photos. This gives each pair its own unique character and tells the storied life of the animal.

Measurements are based on the actual length of the sandal footbed.

Place your foot on a sheet of paper and mark straight down from your heel and big toe. Measure the distance between in centimeters for the most accurate sizing. Our sizing should closely match your normal shoe size - if it differs significantly, please reach out to us. For any other sizing questions don't hesitate to contact us at info@wildstrideleather.com.

For The American Bison Slide we recommend adding about 1 cm to your foot measurement when picking out your size. For example, if your foot measures 24 cm we recommend going with size 7 - 7.5

For The Long-Range American Bison Sandal we recommend true to size based on the size chart for a snug fit.

Thank you.

The leather we use is extremely strong and durable, which will last you many years with proper care. We offer re-soling and footbed restorations for a fee. If you don't want to ship them back, we recommend taking your sandals to a local cobbler for re-sole before the sole wears down to the leather.
